Contract: Outside IR35, 12+ months
Security Clearance: Required to be eligable (Note: Overseas work within the last 5 years may affect eligibility)
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years as an Electrical Inspector.
Educational Background:
ONC/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or:
Completion of a full electrical apprenticeship along with C&G 2391 Electrical Inspection certification.
Regulations and Standards:
Proficiency in 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations.
Possession of a CSCS Card or an equivalent Safety Passport.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external customers.
Inspection Scope:
Inspect a variety of equipment, including Class 1 nuclear pressure equipment and items manufactured to conventional codes, standards, and regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Industry Knowledge:
Good understanding of UK inspection requirements within the nuclear industry or relevant experience from other high-hazard industries.
Standards and Codes:
Ability to understand or quickly learn nuclear and conventional codes and standards related to the inspection of electrical equipment in high-hazard environments, including installation, punch lists, reporting, and the full Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process.
Self-Motivation:
Proactive and self-motivated approach to both technical and non-technical tasks.
Stakeholder Management:
Experience in managing a range of stakeholders, with a demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate in technical discussions related to inspection.
Communication Skills:
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Quality Management:
Good working knowledge of customer quality requirements and the application of ISO 9001 standards.
Manufacturing Processes:
Understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes.
This role is a great opportunity for experienced Electrical Inspectors who have worked in high-hazard industries, particularly in the nuclear sector. The position offers a long-term contract outside IR35, with the opportunity to work on significant projects in Reading
