Job Title: Second Chef
Location: 34-Bedded Care Home, New Milton, Hampshire
Salary: £12.50 per hour
Shifts:

Week 1: Thursday & Friday, 08:00 - 18:00
Week 2: Saturday, 08:00 - 14:00 & Sunday, 08:00 - 18:00
Additional Requirement: Ability to cover for the Head Chef during holidays
Are you a talented chef looking to make a meaningful impact? Join our caring and dedicated team at a 34-bedded care home in New Milton, Hampshire, as a Second Chef. This is a rewarding part-time role that offers the chance to use your culinary skills to enhance the lives of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook high-quality meals tailored to residents' dietary needs and preferences.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop varied, nutritious, and seasonally inspired menus.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Adapt meals to meet specific dietary requirements, such as allergies, dysphagia, and modified textures.
Efficiently manage stock and supplies to reduce waste.

Requirements

Proven experience as a chef in a care home, school, hospital, or similar setting.
Knowledge of dietary needs, including modified diets and allergen management.
Strong understanding of food safety standards within a healthcare environment.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently when required.
A compassionate and respectful attitude towards residents and their well-being.
