We are actively looking for a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant with recent SEND experience to work in a Specialist Resource Provision at a mainstream primary school in Leamington Spa.
This is a full-time role which is due to start in January and is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for supporting pupils’ learning and development in an inclusive educational environment.
Responsibilities
* Pupil Support: Assist in the learning and development of pupils within the Specialist Resource Provision, adapting support to meet individual needs and promoting independence and self-reliance.
* Relationship Building: Establish positive relationships with pupils and act as a role model, demonstrating positive values, attitudes, and behavior to foster an inclusive learning environment.
* Collaboration with Teachers: Work closely with teachers to plan and prepare learning objectives, monitor pupil progress, and implement behavior management strategies to maintain a constructive classroom atmosphere.
* Curriculum Delivery: Deliver and adjust learning activities under supervision, using ICT effectively to enhance learning, and manage resources safely to support diverse learning needs.
* Communication and Reporting: Communicate effectively with parents and other professionals, providing feedback on pupil progress and contributing to the overall ethos of the school.
Requirements
* NVQ Level 2 or higher qualification; GCSEs in English and Mathematics; Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (or working towards) or equivalent.
* Experience in supporting children’s learning in a primary school setting, with an understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and inclusion policies.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively engage with pupils, parents, and staff.
* Ability to adapt teaching styles to meet diverse pupil needs; demonstrate initiative and independence in supporting learning and development.
