Job Title: Senior Social Worker – Children’s Services (Qualified)

Location: Lancashire House, BB5 0FL

Contract: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with a recognized professional qualification

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in social work

Previous experience working within a Duty & Assessment team

Ability to work on-site at Lancashire House for at least three days per week

This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within Children’s Services while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage complex child protection cases, ensuring compliance with statutory duties.

Prepare court reports and represent the local authority in legal proceedings.

Attend case conferences and work with multi-agency partners to ensure child safety.

Provide mentorship to junior social workers and contribute to service improvements.

Respond to urgent situations and provide immediate intervention when required.

Essential Requirements

Proven ability to work autonomously while ensuring accountability in case management.

Strong experience handling court proceedings and working within legal frameworks.

Ability to manage complex cases cost-effectively and in compliance with regulations.

Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Experience in multi-agency collaboration to improve care outcomes.

Knowledge of practical support strategies for families and children in need.

Access to a laptop and car for work purposes.
