We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in Workington and Whitehaven. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their own home settings. This position involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The Support Worker will work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver tailored care plans, particularly for those with dementia or requiring medication administration.

We can offer a range of hours to suit your requirements, from bank contracts - you pick the hours you want to work, part time (16 or 24 hours) or full time (35 hours plus).

Responsibilities

* Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.

* Assist clients with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.

* Support individuals in daily living activities, promoting independence where possible.

* Perform heavy lifting as required to assist clients with mobility or transfers.

* Administer medication according to prescribed guidelines and maintain accurate records.

* Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their quality of life.

* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety regulations.

* Drive clients to appointments or social outings as needed, ensuring their comfort during transport.

* Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual needs.

Requirements

* Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.

* A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.

* Valid driving licence is essential for transporting clients as needed.You are paid 40p per mile mileage allowance.

* Relevant qualifications in health or social care would be beneficial but not essential; training will be provided.
