The Company you will be working for;

Our client is an established and successful company based in Newton Aycliffe. They are currently looking for an Estimator to join their team on a permanent basis. If you are interested and meet the person specification of the job role, please apply below.

The Role you will be doing;

* Prepare accurate and timely estimates for custom manufacturing and fabrication projects

* Interpret customer specifications, technical drawings, and BOMs to identify scope and cost drivers

* Use and improve our Excel/VBA-based quoting templates (full training provided)

* Consult clients on requirements and conduct occasional site visits

* Apply engineering judgment to estimate production hours and material costs

* Document and improve the quoting process into a repeatable manual/checklist

* Follow up on quotes and post-delivery feedback to support continuous improvement

* Maintain and update the customer CRM/Quote Control Sheet

* Collaborate with production, design, and engineering teams to confirm project feasibility

* Support recruitment and mentoring of a future apprentice estimator

About you;

* Minimum 5 years’ experience in bespoke manufacturing or fabrication estimating

* Strong engineering knowledge with the ability to assess production feasibility

* High proficiency in Excel (including formulas); VBA familiarity is a plus

* Able to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication specs

* Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation ability

* Effective communication and documentation skills

* Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities

* Capable of self-managing workload and meeting deadlines under pressure

* Team player with mentoring potential
