Civil Project Manager

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Project Manager to join their teams. The position will be based in the UK on an EP&R project.

What you will be doing

The Civil Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of civil engineering, with close collaboration with site engineers and civil teams, handling client interfaces, engaging in construction management, and leading cross-functional teams effectively.

Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, resources, design reviews, and budgets.
Coordinate and oversee all project phases, from pre-construction to project closeout.
Monitor project progress, track key milestones, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Lead and manage project teams, including engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors.
Foster a collaborative working environment and ensure clear communication among all project stakeholders.
Resolve conflicts and issues that arise during the construction process.
Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and within the approved limits.
Review and approve expenses, change orders, and invoices related to the project.
Conduct regular financial analysis to ensure profitability and cost efficiency.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, permits, progress reports, and as-built drawings.
Provide regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Is the job for me?

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
3+ years of experience as a Project Manager in civil construction or a similar role.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects or EP&R/HV projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, regulations, and safety standards.
Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and other relevant software applications.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Demonstrate appropriate knowledge and experience for work undertaken under the NERS scheme (additional training provided).
Relevant H&S qualification, i.e., IOSH Managing Safely or similar.
Proven experience in managing a project from scoping out requirements and resources in line with strategic company objectives to completion and delivery.
Experience in supporting a continuous improvement culture within the project team.
Awareness of BIM technologies where relevant.
Awareness of engineering processes and best practices
