Reception Assistant – Coroners Service
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Salary: £12.00 per Hour
Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 17:00
The Opportunity We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Reception Assistant to join a dedicated team, acting as the first point of contact for all visitors, internal staff, and external clients. This role plays a vital part in providing a welcoming and efficient front-of-house service while delivering key administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing reception duties, including answering calls, handling post, and greeting visitors, jurors, witnesses, and legal teams.
Providing advice and guidance on security requirements, courtroom procedures, and identity document requirements.
Ensuring up-to-date knowledge of organisational policies and procedures, sharing information with colleagues.
Managing courtroom bookings and supporting administrative tasks.
Assisting in monitoring and evaluating reception service performance.
Maintaining confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
Diffusing challenging situations and handling occasional confrontational behaviour professionally.What We’re Looking For:
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) with a Level 2 Customer Service qualification or relevant experience.
Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service in a professional environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of people.
Experience working within a team and developing positive working relationships.
Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks efficiently and accurately
