The School of Vocational and Technical Studies (VTS) at South Thames College are looking to appoint an experienced Lecturer in Media (Film) to deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students so as to maximise achievement and continuous improvement.

You’ll deliver teaching and assessment activities within your area of specialism including lectures, setting/marking coursework, practical activities and field work and play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum with employer engagement and learner skills development.

As our Lecturer, we’d like you to hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in Media or a related field, hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) and have recent teaching experience in Media in an FE College. With strong working knowledge of current framework for teaching, learning, assessment and quality assurance, you’ll have a successful record of tutoring and supporting learners and of setting and implementing target setting, monitoring and reviewing progress.

You’ll have strong evidence of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment and of effective employer engagement in curriculum design and delivery with the ability to work under pressure and to strict validating body deadlines. Able to use initiative, organise and prioritise, you’ll be an effective verbal and written communicator in both group and interpersonal situations.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
