Strategy Education are looking for a Special Needs Teacher for a year 5/6 class starting in January 2025 for a SEN Primary School based in Ipswich Suffolk.

This small primary school has three classrooms and each class has a maximum of eight pupils with one teacher and two learning support staff. The year 5/6 class currently has 6 pupils with the capacity for 8.

The school offers the National Curriculum as well as individualised programmes and nurturing/therapeutic sessions.

As a Primary SEN teacher, you will need to be –

A qualified teacher with QTLS or QTLS

Be sensitive and understanding

Have a good understanding of students with anxiety, trauma, autism, ADHD and SEMH

Be empathetic and patient.

Able to manage challenging behaviour in a positive manner.
