We’re working with an innovative civil engineering contractor who are growing their estimating team due to the influx of tender opportunities going into 2025. The business are experts in their field of heavy civils and road construction working as a principal contractor on projects up to £25m for public and private sector clients.

There is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced team who can support you with a wealth of knowledge and structured training plan to bring you up to speed as a stand-alone estimator. Working closely with the preconstruction team you’ll support with bids on large frameworks, major projects and reactive works – ranging in values and complexities.

Previous experience of estimating is desirable but not essential however working in a civil engineering environment in a hands-on site role or commercial role is.

Duties include:

* Calculate material, labour, and equipment quantities by analysing construction drawings and specifications.

* Prepare initial cost estimates and budgets by gathering pricing information and creating cost breakdowns.

* Collect, review, and compare quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.

* Support the preconstruction team with methodology and pricing strategy.
