Job Title: Payroll and HR System Specialist (12 months FTC)

Location: Hybrid, London and Home Office

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

SYNLAB is a leading provider of pathology and medical diagnostics services, committed to delivering excellence and innovation in healthcare. We are looking for a dedicated Payroll and HR System Specialist to join our team and support the transition of iTrent and COMPASS (Oracle) systems from projects to business as usual (BAU) in the UK, driving business change and efficiency through HR digitisation.

Job Purpose / Summary:

To support the Head of HR Solutions in managing shared HR and payroll systems across multiple SYNLAB businesses in the UK, facilitating efficient service delivery. This hands-on, delivery-focused role requires attention to detail and the ability to manage large data sets. This is initially a 12 month fixed term contract with the possibility of extending into a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Administration: Support delivery of SYNLAB managed service payroll, handle data submissions, check payrolls, and provide approvals for BACS and other payments.
System Management: Administer the MHR/iTrent payroll system and SYNLAB Compass, perform system tasks, and support HR customers with system use.
Pension and Benefits Administration: Manage pension schemes, employment benefits, and ensure compliance with regulations.
HR and Payroll Process Development: Develop and implement HR/payroll processes aligned with managed service payroll systems, supporting changes to working practices.About you:

Essential Requirements:

GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) with excellent numeracy and literacy skills
Proven IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office and Excel
Ability to provide accurate payroll and HR advice
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Proactive and adaptable to changing demands
Good knowledge of HR processes and Pension schemes
Excellent numerical ability and communication skillsDesirable:

Experience in a diverse, multi-site organisation
Previous payroll department experience or working with outsourced payroll providers
Skills in root cause analysis and problem resolutionAbout Us:
