About the Teaching assistant Role:
We are looking for committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work with SEN students in our school based in Charlton, Greenwich. This full-time position offers a wonderful opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities for this Teaching Assistant opportunity:
* Assist class teachers in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students.
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with various SEN requirements.
* Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
* Foster a safe and nurturing environment to support the emotional and educational well-being of students.
* Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to support student development.
Teaching Assistant - Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people, preferably with SEN.
* A patient, compassionate, and understanding approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations.
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN or education (desirable but not essential).
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
