Job Title: Commissioning Engineer (Main Contractor Liaison)

We are working with a leading Data Centre operator that is looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to take on a key role in overseeing the relationship with their main contractor. This role will see you on-site, working closely with the project team to ensure that the commissioning process is executed to perfection, and that no corners are being cut.
Key Responsibilities:
Ownership of Main Contractor Relationship: You will be the primary point of contact for the main contractor and be responsible for ensuring smooth and transparent communication between all parties involved in the commissioning process.
Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough checks on all work carried out by the contractor, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
Proactive Approach: Actively monitor the project timeline and proactively identify any risks, delays, or issues. Take ownership of resolving these issues swiftly to keep the project on track.
Detail-Oriented: Take a meticulous approach to your work, ensuring that no detail is overlooked, and that all systems and processes are tested and commissioned according to the project's requirements.
Problem Solving: Where issues arise, you will be expected to work with the team and contractor to troubleshoot and find solutions that maintain project integrity and timelines.
Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of progress, issues, and quality checks, providing regular updates to the senior management team.
Key Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in commissioning data centre projects or similar critical infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering as applied to data centres.
Excellent ability to identify quality issues and ensure corrective actions are taken before they become problems.
Exceptional attention to detail and an analytical approach to problem-solving.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with both internal teams and external contractors.
Ability to work independently and be proactive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Previous experience in a similar role is essential, with experience in the data centre industry being a major advantage.
