Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee and manage water industry projects at designated sites. The role requires in-depth knowledge of water treatment, distribution, or wastewater facilities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with environmental standards. The Site Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations, liaising with stakeholders, and managing site personnel to meet project goals and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Oversee the end-to-end management of site activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Site Operations and Supervision:
Coordinate and manage on-site activities, including subcontractors, suppliers, and staff to ensure seamless workflow, safety, and compliance.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures in line with industry standards and regulations. Conduct regular site inspections and audits.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all work meets quality standards and project specifications. Review and approve project deliverables at each stage.
Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the main point of contact on-site, maintaining clear communication with clients, regulatory bodies, local communities, and internal teams.
Resource Management:
Manage and optimize the use of materials, equipment, and labor on-site, and report any resource-related issues.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and incident reports. Provide regular updates to senior management on project status and site activities.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and challenges, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
Problem-Solving:
Address on-site challenges as they arise, making critical decisions to ensure that project goals are achieved. Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of site management experience, preferably in the water industry (water treatment, wastewater, or distribution).
Proven track record in managing large-scale, multi-faceted construction or engineering projects.
Certifications:
Relevant health and safety qualifications, such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
Project management certifications (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2) are desirable. Skills and Competencies:
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of water treatment processes, water distribution systems, wastewater management, and regulatory standards in the water industry.
Leadership and Team Management:
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team of professionals and contractors.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
Analytical and Problem-Solving:
Capable of identifying issues and implementing solutions swiftly to keep projects on track.
Organizational Skills:
Highly organized with attention to detail, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Financial Acumen:
Understanding of budget management, cost control, and resource allocation within a project setting. Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including outdoor and high-temperature areas.
Willingness to travel to multiple sites as required. Working Conditions: This role may involve working outdoors, occasionally in challenging weather conditions, and may require weekend or night work based on project demands.
