SEMH Teacher

ANZUK Education are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH Teacher to join an excellent, established team for Term 5. If you are looking to make a positive impact on students from day one then this is the role for you!
The school is based in Gloucester, in a new purpose-built building that has been designed to cater for the specific needs of the young people that attend. The school accommodates secondary age students from year 7 to year 11, with small class sizes with 8 students per class. All young people have access to speech and language interventions, specialist careers input and advance, support around mental health (school nurse and/or counselling depending on young person’s needs) and occupational therapy.
The Role as a SEMH Teacher:
Help students manage and improve their Social & Emotional Development via coping strategies & appropriate social behaviours
Behaviour management - working closely with students to address and manage challenging behaviours in the classroom
Creating safe and supportive learning environments, where the students fill supported in a calm and structured way
To create tailored learning plans to meet specific behavioural and academic needs of each student
Collaborate with other professionals such as educational psychologists, counsellors and social workers What The School offers:

Paid to scale from Day 1, from £162.31 - £223.63 per day

Opportunities for professional development Requirements as a SEMH Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience working with students with challenging behaviours and/or emotional difficulties
An understanding of SEMH and how mental health challenges can impact learning
Able to foster a positive classroom environment working with students that have various SEND needs
Ability to engage and inspire students and enable them to reach their potential ***Please note: We cannot offer sponsorship for this role***
