Role Description

Bates & Bradshaw are recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to assist our Quantity Surveying team on a mix of Domestic and Commerical builds and Refurbishment schemes in and around the Hull area.

If you are currently an Assistant Quantity Surveyor wantiConstruction and Refurbishment sector, we will be delighted to hear from you.

Main Responsibilities

Assist the Quantity Surveying team in the following:

* The procurement of sub-contractors

* Measurement and Agreement of Sub Contractor or Labour only payments

* Preparation, submission and agreement of interim Valuations

* Monthly Cost Value Reconciliations

* Assist the Commercial Manager in preparation of Out Turn Reports

* Preparation, of Bills of Quantity

* Liaising with site management and recording of contract valuations

* Agreement of Final Accounts

* Preparation of cost plans and forecasts

* Assist the Site manager in material call offs

* Assist in Contractual disputes

* Form close relationships with internal & External Stakeholders

* Contract Administration JCT & NEC

The Ideal Candidate

Only highly motivated and reliable individuals should apply with a genuine keenness to progress to become a Quantity Surveyor.

* Full valid UK driving licence

* 5 years experience of working in the construction industry

* Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills

* A willingness to learn

* You will be confident and proactive individual

* Ability to work under pressure

* Ability to work independently and as part of team

* Located within an hour of the East Riding area

* Willing to undertake any required training

Qualifications

* HNC / HND in Construction / recognised Quantity Surveying qualification or be able to enrol on a day release (paid for by the company)

* 5 GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) including Maths & English
