ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are actively recruiting an experienced Operations Manager to join our Manufacturing site in Hyde.
This role will provide you with full responsibility for the operation of all the factory areas: production output, quality, cost, delivery, technical, safety and human resources, whilst respecting the defined goals.
Responsible for the effective management of people, material, and equipment to achieve a first-class level of customer service, whilst supporting the overall site and business objectives in the deployment of lean methodologies and metrics working towards achieving a culture of continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Full site responsibility, ensuring health and safety regulations are always adhered to.
Manage all site employees with related matters: including recruitment, labour planning, employee relations and performance management opportunities.
Drive Lean and continuous improvement, with best practice initiatives in key elements of manufacturing performance.
Maintain the computerised system, evaluate asset management to make recommendations for capex replacement.
Accountable for the P&L and all aspects of engineering costs, budgets, and business plan.
Specify and order maintenance equipment, in line with the company purchasing procedure.
Work from engineering drawings/work instructions to company and BS/ENISO9001:2000, (phone number removed) &18001 standards.
Plan the operational maintenance and repair of facilities and testing equipment.
Responsible for product quality and process SOP’s.
Manage the engineering functions, systems and processes ensuring business objectives meet SD2, 5S standards and lean CI methodologies.
Champion Lean and continuous improvement methodology to propose new opportunities for efficiencies and plant layout.
Lead regular meetings to pinpoint areas within the manufacturing facility for improvement.
ABOUT YOU:
5+ years’ experience operating at a senior level within an Engineering/Manufacturing/Production environment.
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
People Management experience to lead, empower and encourage the development of teams.
Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels to include senior stakeholders.
Experience of working in a customer-led environment with changing priorities.
Experience of using Lean processes.
Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards associated with the industry.
Experience of SHEQ compliance.
Excellent organisation / time management skills.
