Our Oxfordshire based client is a pioneering developer of protein based antibiotics to target antibiotic resistant bacterial pathogens. They are currently recruiting for a Senior Scientist to lead on a variety of projects encompassing novel protein engineering, production and characterization
  
Additional duties for this role will include

Designing and producing a range of antimicrobial bacteriocin
Performing characterization of produced bacteriocin using a variety of microbiological and molecular techniques
Understanding in vitro and in vivo infection models to support ongoing R&D project activities Applications are invited from candidates with a PhD in Microbiology / Molecular Biology together with in depth experience of protein engineering, production and characterization with antibiotics. Knowledge and experience antimicrobial resistance would also highly beneficial
