About The Role

The Workdry Group has seen enormous growth over recent years. Due to this we’re pleased to be adding a Group Director of Procurement to drive the procurement transformation to a more centre-led operation, to leverage a collaborative buying approach, and harness efficiencies and cost reduction.

This role will be responsible for the overall strategy and operations across all regions, functions and business entities, whilst managing the organisations global supply chain efficiently taking advantage of opportunities for efficiencies and automation. You will be a strategic hands-on leader who can elevate the procurement function through the development of its processes, frameworks and operational practice.

Tasks & Responsibilities

* You will develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy that supports all global business units and entities.

* Develop and manage the procurement and supply chain budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency, working with Finance and other key business stakeholders.

* Monitor and determine the most cost-effective levels of finished goods and raw materials inventory, considering factors like historical demand, supplier lead times, manufacturing cycle time, and non-forecasted demand to align production with global demand requirements.

* Drive innovation and continuous improvement across key processes, technology, products, services, and experiences and simplifying complex operations.

* Lead strategic cost optimisation efforts through people, process improvements, technology, products, services, and experiences and contractual efficiencies.

* Ensure robust governance and controls by establishing policies and procedures for all procurement activities, including both direct (equipment) and indirect (non-equipment) categories.

* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement and supply chain team. Ensure that the team is equipped with the skills and resources needed to execute the procurement strategy effectively. Foster a collaborative, results-driven culture which supports and encourages continuous improvements within the function.

* Lead change management initiatives and drive transformative changes in support of strategic and operational objectives.

* Adopt overall accountability for the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, supplier agreements and supplier performance management. Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain. Develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity in the event of supplier disruptions.

* Develop and instil standardised frameworks for supplier selection, supplier contracts, RFQs and other key processes.

* Develop sourcing strategies to identify and secure high-quality materials and services at the competitive prices.

* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in procurement and supply chain operations.

* Promote sustainable procurement and supply chain practices in line with our ESG Policies.

Qualifications & Experience

* Extensive experience in procurement and supply chain, with demonstrable experience as an effective member of a senior leadership team.

* Expertise in procurement within a manufacturing, equipment rental or construction-related industries is favourable.

* Able to craft a clear vision and sourcing roadmap with advanced technology embedded.

* Exceptional and effective cross-functional collaborator, both internally (cross-functional business partners / stakeholders) and externally with strategic suppliers.

* Proven track record of leading a regional/global procurement function.

* Experience working with sourcing tools including Spend Analytics, Contract Management and P2P platforms.

* Broad experience in direct manufacturing categories and indirect category spend.

* Experience working for a scale-up business and adept at working with ambiguity/change.

* Proven success in developing and executing procurement and supply chain strategies at a Group level.

* Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management and supplier relationship management.

* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

This role will be based out of the Head Office (Chandlers Ford) but will be expected to travel nationally and internationally approximately 20% of the time.
