The Opportunity
As part of a rapidly expanding nuclear power sector, an opportunity has arisen for a talented Fluid Systems Engineer to join a growing team of capable multi disciplined engineers. This role comes at an exciting time, driven by the expansion of both UK and European nuclear projects. You’ll be working with a company who offer key contributions to major projects like Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, as well as pioneering advancements in Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and Poland's first nuclear power station.

As a Fluid Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of nuclear power programmes. You will support the Fluid Systems Team in delivering key thermo-hydraulic designs, ensuring compliance with rigorous safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
System Documentation: Produce, review, and update system documentation related to mechanical, thermo-hydraulic designs, operator instructions, human-machine interfaces, and control logic design.
Instrumentation & Control (I&C): Conduct analyses to define I&C functional requirements, produce functional diagrams, and write I&C functional requirement specifications.
Design: Size key components (pumps, fans, pipework), perform thermal-hydraulic calculations, and ensure the 3D model aligns with intended system designs.
Data Analysis & Verification: Analyse input data, draw lessons from previous projects, and ensure requirements meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with teams across disciplines such as civil engineering, procurement, safety, and environmental teams to meet project requirements.
Process Improvement: Contribute to innovation and improvement of processes, ensuring the highest quality engineering output.
Modification Management: Manage and evaluate system modification requests, develop technical solutions, and engage with clients to optimise outcomes.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
Proven experience in process engineering, ideally within the nuclear industry.
Ability to manage workloads, ensuring timely and high-quality documentation.
Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English, with the confidence to engage with international teams.
A proactive approach to building positive relationships, especially with remote teams across France and Germany.
Commitment to continuously improving engineering quality and documentation.It's great if you also have the following
Familiarity with Engineering Change Management tools.
Knowledge of thermodynamic and hydraulic analysis tools.Get in touch now
