Project Duration: Immediate Start - Approximately 4 Months (Temporary Position.)
About the Project:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Site Manager to oversee a prestigious student accommodation restoration project in the heart of Cambridge. This historical building, affiliated with one of the renowned colleges of The University of Cambridge, requires a meticulous and skilled professional to manage its transformation. The project includes isolation, soft strip out, demolition, and groundworks, all within the constraints of a listed building.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the site activities to ensure project completion within the set timeline and budget.
* Coordination: Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and college representatives to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
* Compliance: Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with health and safety regulations, building codes, and heritage preservation guidelines.
* Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of workmanship and attention to detail, particularly given the historical significance of the building.
* Resource Management: Efficiently manage labor, materials, and equipment on site.
* Problem Solving: Address any issues or delays promptly, implementing solutions to keep the project on track.
Requirements:
* Experience: Proven experience as a Site Manager, preferably with experience in listed building restoration or similar projects.
* Qualifications: Relevant construction management qualifications (e.g, SMSTS, CSCS).
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of heritage building preservation, demolition, groundworks, and construction processes.
* Skills: Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
* Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure the historical integrity of the building is maintained.
* Availability: Must be available to start immediately and commit to the project duration until October 2024.
