Functional Skills Tutor

Pertemps are thrilled to be working with a training provider who are looking to grow their team. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Functional Skills tutors to contribute to the growth and development of the current learners on programme. The role of the Functional Skills Maths and English Tutor involves delivering education, training, and assessment while ensuring the well-being and progress of students, meeting administrative requirements, and achieving performance targets.

The responsibilities of the Functional Skills Tutor:

Deliver high quality and inclusive teaching and learning sessions both face to face and remote, 1-2-1 and in groups when required.
Prepare relevant course/subject materials including resources, lesson plans and SOL that effectively meet awarding body requirements.
Complete and use initial assessment results to ensure learning needs are met.
Liaison with employers (where needed) on the development of training programmes to satisfy employer. requirements and add value to learners.
Monitor learner progress to ensure learning continues and learners achieve in a timely manner.
To support the achievement of KPI’s, business performance, and contractual targets for learner retention and success rates.
Seek feedback from learners on learning support materials in order to review and improve the service and learning experience.
Work closely with the Quality and Compliance Team to ensure paperwork associated with the programme is completed to a high standard within required timescales, and that systems and processes are followed and are in line with contractual deadlines.
Keep fully up to date with Ofsted, Awarding Organisation and other stakeholder requirements.
Promote Safeguarding and Prevent, British values, Maths and English in all sessions.
Use a variety of delivery methods that will stimulate learning appropriate to learner needs.
Deliver additional sessions and one to one support where required to ensure all learners can succeed.
Track and record learner progress ensuring that accurate and reliable information on predicted achievement and success rates are readily available.
Maintain up to date knowledge of all programmes including apprenticeships, our commercial offer and recruitment services.
The qualifications/requirements of the Functional Skills Tutor:

Have experience delivering English and Maths to groups of learners and individuals from a range of backgrounds.
Have full teaching qualification - PGCE, PCET, DTLLS
Have a Recognised Assessor award: D32/D33, A1, TAQA or CAVA.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
An understanding of different learning styles and how to differentiate through various teaching methods.
Be willing to work flexible hours and locations as required, be committed and enthusiastic.
Knowledge and experience of teaching and learning strategies.
Excellent organisational, IT and administrative skills.
