We are looking for Skills Progression Coach to join our team. You will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and resources to individuals seeking to enhance their employability skills and secure meaningful employment. You will work closely with individuals to assess their strengths, identify areas for improvement, and develop personalised action plans to help them achieve their career goals. Additionally, you will facilitate workshops, deliver training sessions, and offer one-on-one coaching to empower individuals with the necessary tools and confidence to succeed in the job market. You will work closely with Contract Manager to meet performance KPI’s and build excellent relationships with learners, employers’, and referral partners to support the development and progression of all learners and local relationships at Pathway.
Requirements of the role:
• Good knowledge of a stable careers programme
• Conduct thorough assessments of individual skills, qualifications, career goals, and employment barriers.
• Collaborate with individuals to establish realistic and achievable short-term and long-term objectives.
• Create personalised action plans tailored to each individual's needs, outlining specific steps, timelines, and measurable goals.
• Provide clarity on the resources and support available to help individuals execute their action plans effectively.
• Offer guidance and support to help individuals develop essential employability skills such as resume writing, cover letter preparation, interview techniques, and job search strategies.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions on relevant topics to enhance individuals' professional skills and marketability.
• Provide one-on-one coaching sessions to address individuals' concerns, challenges, and career-related issues.
• Offer constructive feedback, encouragement, and motivation to empower individuals to overcome obstacles and stay focused on their career objectives.
• Connect individuals with appropriate resources, including job boards, career centres, training programs, community services and educational avenues, to support their job search and skill development efforts.
• Foster relationships with employers, industry professionals, and community organisations to identify job opportunities, internships, educational avenues, and networking events beneficial to individuals.
• Regularly review and assess individuals' progress towards their goals, identifying strengths, areas for improvement, and potential barriers.
• Modify action plans as necessary based on changing circumstances, individual feedback, or emerging opportunities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of individual interactions, assessments, action plans, and outcomes in compliance with organizational standards and confidentiality protocols.
• Prepare reports and data summaries to track program effectiveness, individual success rates, and key performance indicators.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and advancements in career development and workforce readiness.
• Participate in professional development activities, workshops, and conferences to enhance coaching skills and knowledge.
• Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and external partners to optimize service delivery, share resources, and leverage opportunities for individual support.
• Advocate for individuals' interests, needs, and rights within the employment system, ensuring equal access to opportunities and resources.
• Empower individuals to advocate for themselves, build self-confidence, and develop self-advocacy skills to navigate their career paths effectively.
• Solicit feedback from individuals, stakeholders, and partners to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for enhancement.
• Participate in program evaluations, quality assurance activities, and performance reviews to contribute to ongoing program improvement efforts.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly, actively listen to individuals' needs, provide feedback, and deliver engaging presentations and workshops.
Interview Preparation: Understanding of interview techniques, common interview questions, and strategies for effective interview preparation, including mock interviews and behavioural interviewing techniques
Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to changing priorities, individual needs, and program requirements while maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanour.
Cultural Competence: Awareness of cultural diversity, sensitivity to cultural differences, and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, and socioeconomic status.
Ofsted: Understand and have experience with Ofsted and audit compliance.
