Our client is currently recruiting for an Ops Mechanical Engineer. Based in Aberdeen, the role is on a 6-12 month contract.
ROLE
The position of Ops Mechanical Engineer will be a temporary position to provide primary mechanical support to the FPF-1 Asset.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure adherence and direct input to achieving Incident Free Operations, by active promotion and participation in Company Life Saving Rules policy.
Actively comply with scope readiness to execute ensuring adherence to gate compliance in relation to associated workscopes within the Integrated Asset 28/90 day Plan.
Provide day to day asset support during normal operations, and during TAR Shutdown periods.
Provide input and feedback to maintenance strategies and PMR activities, while ensuring mechanical equipment documentation is proactively reviewed for efficiency gain, technical best practices and continuous improvements, ensuring PMCR’s proactively submitted accordingly.
Actively support building of equipment BOM (bill of materials) kits for respective equipment, proactive reviews of critical spares holding, obsolescence equipment checks, and associated efficiency gains with stock holding.
Active user of our Maintenance Management System (SAP), ability to raise and refine work order details, add materials to associated work orders, and have a strong appreciation of the workings of the MMS, and regular input to the work order history records.
Provide technical input and participation into the maintenance deferral system for associated SECE work orders.
Ability to provide technical support and guidance to the asset for component and equipment workings on major asset plant equipment, to include but not limited to Cranes, HVAC, Valves, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Turbines, Compressors, Lifeboats.
Actively raise purchase orders for associated vendors and materials, while ensuring continual OPEX input and accurate forecasting and adherence to the overall budget. Active participation and provision of detail for the yearly maintenance budget submission.
Proactive monitoring of critical equipment, using company and vendor licensed software, highlighting any deviations and anomalies to respective parties.
Participation, technical guidance and proactive leadership in Root Cause Analysis and Mean Time Between Failure reviews on respective equipment.
Providing a key mentoring role in support of our Proactive Reliability Theme, and onshore Lube Oil Champion for the asset.
Ensure all associated TAR future shutdown activities are actively worked in advance, to minimise any gate compliance issues on long lead items.
Participation in regular offshore visits, vendor visits, and equipment vendor testing.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree qualified or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering discipline.
Ability to demonstrate competent knowledge of static and rotating equipment and associated systems.
Demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of reliability themes and MTBF review.
Ability to provide good sound decision making skills.
Demonstrate offshore Oil & Gas experience or vendor associated equipment knowledge required.
Possess excellent communication skills and a good team player.
Good awareness and proactive attitude and input to Maintenance Management Systems (SAP).
