As a Training and Labour Coordinator you will work closely with all members of the HR team to ensure a joined-up approach to our overarching People Strategy. You will be part of a team helping to provide a consistent supply of well qualified, trained and engaged individuals who can deliver on our contractual obligations, exhibit our key values and deliver an exceptional service. Your engagement and relationship building with key operational stakeholders across the business will help ensure that we are delivering against expectations.
 
Position Overview
 
NRL are seeking a Training and Labour Coordinator to support their Client in ensuring that we deploy the right people with the required skillset and qualifications at the right time.
 
The Training and Labour Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating training programs and labour resources. This role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, providing comprehensive administrative support, and ensuring the smooth execution of training and development activities. The coordinator will also assist in the recruitment and onboarding of apprentices and trainees, maintain training records, and ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
 
Aims and Objectives

Provide full coverage for Training and Labour Management
Support with the improvement of operative feedback and engagement levels
Support with the improvement of retention rates within the operative population
Support with the continued elevation of the HR department in ensuring that we are working in partnership with the operation and can facilitate labour resource at all times 
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The Training and Labour Coordinator will advertise apprenticeships and trainee vacancies, assist with the interview, selection, and onboarding of apprentices and trainees, and identify opportunities for local schools, colleges, and other education providers to participate in projects and events. Additionally, the Coordinator will attend and represent the company at recruitment fairs and develop meaningful relationships with local education facilities to support future workforce needs. 

The Training and Labour Coordinator will collaborate with the NTM and Head of Labour & IR to ensure end-to-end training delivery for operatives, work closely with the Head of Labour & IR to understand specifics relating to WRA (JIB/BESA/CIBSE), provide effective administrative support to the NTM and Head of Labour & IR, and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with people managers. 

The Training and Labour Coordinator will assist the NTM and Head of Labour & IR with PDR completion, administration, and site appraisal documentation, manage and support various L&D projects, identify areas for improvement and communicate these to relevant stakeholders, and support the Head of IR with reviews of people capacity and project fluctuations. 

The Training and Labour Coordinator will maintain a library of internal and external training courses, liaise with external course training providers and conduct regular quality reviews, ensure training courses are conducted in suitable venues and manage necessary arrangements, organise hospitality and travel arrangements for delegates, and produce and distribute course joining instructions and evaluation forms. 

The Training and Labour Coordinator will create and maintain training activity records for staff both manually and via database, report on key metrics related to training requests and course completions, highlight important industry or legislation changes to relevant stakeholders, ensure training materials and courses are fit for purpose through ongoing review, and maintain a live log of training and labour-related spend, ensuring budget compliance. 

The Training and Labour Coordinator will proactively manage workload using prioritisation techniques and effective time management, be flexible and willing to travel UK-wide as required, stay updated with legislation and guidelines related to early years and industry standards, attend networking events and connect with similar roles in other organisations, and ensure a thorough understanding of all sites, job roles, and in-life training relevant to individual career stages. 

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

Previous experience of delivering a Training support role desirable
Previous administrative experience·       Ability to communicate effectively at all levels 
·       Effective interpersonal skills – able to engage effectively with a range of audiences, build rapport and gain trust
·       Strong planning and organisational skills - able to prioritise workload effectively
·       Ability to work effectively under pressure whilst retaining a strong eye for detail
·       Proactive self-starter, able to work unsupervised with a focus on ongoing growth, evolution and innovation
·       Excellent IT skills
·       Knowledge and experience of the Engineering and Construction Industry would be valuable but not mandatory
·       Knowledge and experience of dealing with apprenticeship and training providers   would be valuable but not mandatory
