We are recruiting for a Lead M&E Engineer (office and field) based out of the North East area and covering multiple projects/contracts across the UK.
The role is a permanent position paying up to 60k plus package. Mon-Fri 40 hours per week.
The postholder will assist in supporting the Business Development and Commercial team and the Operations Team with technical and commercial input to project implementation, bid generation and opportunity scoping. Working on projects from conception through to completion, conducting design calculations, writing design reports, creating schematics and liaising with customers throughout will be key areas of responsibility.
Key Areas
• Support energy and water efficiency upgrades with engineering input
• Collate technical and commercial information from manufacturers/suppliers
• Act as technical lead
• Develop solutions to energy and water efficiency upgrade challenges
• Drive continued high quality design and technical approach in line with up to date best practice industry standards across engineering team
• Produce design data and sizing calculations for projects, including:
o GSHP and ASHP systems
o District and Communal Heating Systems
o Solar PV
o Other low carbon technologies
• Lead and manage large scale engineering projects from bid conception through to project completion and handover
• Conduct site surveys and report on findings to clients
• Undertake site and technology assessments to assist in funding applications for clients
• Provide peer review support to engineering team, alongside Head of Engineering and Head of Design
• Full technical design and report writing as part of tender responses, project work, and construction as-built documentation
• Carry out technical surveys in domestic and/or commercial properties for energy or water efficiency related upgrades.
Qualifications, Certification and Licenses
• Engineering degree (BEng/MEng) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
• Obtained or working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with CIBSE (Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers), IMechE (Institute of Mechanical Engineers) or IET (Institute of Engineering and Technology) or already chartered.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the Energy industry.
• Good IT skills, particularly MS Office (Excel and Word).
Demonstrable Experience
• Experience of engineering/energy analysis, design of hydraulic and/or renewable heating systems
• Experience modelling energy consumption and carbon emissions
• Ability to interpret design information, such as PIDs/schematics and knowledge of system design.
• Bid and project management experience, working to tight deadlines.
• Experience of renewable and low carbon technology, such as GSHP, ASHP, along with Solar PV/Battery storage and CHP/grid parallel connections
• Building and plantroom surveying experience
• Experience working on commercial and domestic building system design.
• Experience with Autocad software
• Knowledge of Revit software
