Part-Time Tutor/Assessor- Carpentry
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £28,763 - £33,430 per annum, pro-rata
Contract: Permanent, Part-time (22.5 hours per week)

A well-regarded Further Education and Apprenticeship provider, rated "Good" by Ofsted, is seeking a Part-Time Trainer/Assessor to join their dynamic team. This institution is known for its high-quality apprenticeship provision and modern teaching facilities, offering a supportive environment for both students and staff.
Responsibilities of the Part-Time Tutor/Assessor:
• Take responsibility for a caseload of learners, providing high-quality coaching, mentoring, and training to ensure timely completion of their apprenticeships.
• Complete regular progress reviews and provide feedback to learners, employers, and colleagues.
• Build strong relationships with employers and learners, acting as the main point of contact for progress and development.
• Develop learners' knowledge, skills, and behaviours, working with employers to create meaningful learning activities.
• Assist in the development and recording of learners’ knowledge, skills, and behaviours, ensuring that they are well-prepared for assessments and end-point evaluations.
• Promote the institution’s values and maintain high standards of training in compliance with awarding body requirements.
Primary Duties of the Part-Time Trainer/Assessor:
• Plan and deliver training and assessment to meet the needs of learners and employers.
• Provide guidance on progression, end-point assessments (EPA), and support learners throughout their training.
• Organise regular review meetings to track progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback.
• Manage learner e-portfolios and ensure accurate record-keeping of progress.
• Ensure the successful delivery of off-the-job training and support learners in their professional development.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Level 3 relevant vocational qualification in Carpentry
• Level 3 TAQA or equivalent (A1 or similar).
• Vocational competence in Carpentry
• Proven experience in working with vocational qualification systems and dealing with employers.
• Experience in conducting assessments and achieving targets.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.
Desirable:
• Level 3 Internal Quality Assurance Qualification.
• Familiarity with the latest industry standards and knowledge of health and safety legislation.
Special Conditions:
• This role is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure check.
• The post-holder may be required to travel between sites and workplaces as part of the role.
