A leading manufacturing engineering business require a Buyer to support direct procurement activity for manufacturing. Applicants should be out-going, self-motivated professionals with a background in procurement as a Buyer.

The Buyer will join a large and supportive procurement team enjoying a period of growth. Procurement activity will focus on direct commodity areas for manufacturing. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, so the Buyer will collaborate closely with the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply to achieve production schedules.

Specific duties of the Buyer, will include:

Review, confirm availability and process purchase requisitions
Liaison with internal departments to drive through any QCD and planning requirements
End-to-end supplier order book management
Supplier Relationship Management and development activities around OTD/OTIF metrics/KPIs
Maintain procurement department data within MRP and MS Excel
Escalate and expedite material shortage issues
Identify and qualify new suppliers for Ad-hoc requirements
Drive productivity opportunities with supply base to deliver cost out goals

Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

Purchasing/procurement experience as a Junior Buyer, Buyer or Senior Buyer
Supplier management skills and the ability to manage supplier accounts and orderbooks
Data analysis skills, with experience in the use of MS Excel and/or an MRP system
Accustomed to producing reports and KPIs for stakeholders
Enthusiastic, adaptable and motivated team players
Time management skills and he ability to manage competing demands
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
