We are currently recruiting for a Weekend PPM Engineer to join a leading food manufacturer at their site near York.

As a Maintenance Engineer covering weekends on-site you will be responsible for the completion of planned maintenance – with a goal of limiting the need for reactive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

To complete planned maintenance activities.
To strive for engineering excellence
To ensure compliance with quality processes
To proactively identify, report and solve concerns across the site to help drive improvement
To record all activity through departmental systems, helping to support proactive working and traceability
To generate follow on work orders and parts requests where necessary
To maintain high standards of hygiene and Health & Safety
To maintain compliance with SOP's, Risk Assessments, and Permit to work systems
What we are looking for:

Essential

Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer – ideally gained within a food manufacturing or an FMCG environment.
Prior experience with Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
Competent at completing reactive and planned maintenance within a fast moving, pressurised, manufacturing environment.
Ability to work with other internal staff and external contractors to understand faults within the machinery.
Comfortable working in a food environment.
Desirable

Recognised engineering qualifications (NVQ / BTEC / HNC / City & Guilds etc.) / Time Served Apprenticeship (preferably manufacturing).
Knowledge of electrical engineering including PLCs, control panels, single & three phase, installations etc.
17th Edition / 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary, circa £40,000 (dependent on skills and experience) plus benefits.
