An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client an established housing provider in the UK. My client has a large portfolio of supported living projects and offers generic housing management and supported housing services.

Vacancy Brief:

* My client is looking for a Homeless Support Worker; this is a temp to perm opportunity.

* A full-time role, it is 35 hours per week.

* Monday – Sunday rota, morning 08am – 4pm and late shift 1pm – 9pm

* Week 1: Monday – Thursday Friday off weekend working

* Week 2: Monday off Tuesday to Friday weekend off

* Pay Rate is £13.88 PAYE Or £18.00 Umbrella

* A full UK Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is preferrable.

* The role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check covering children and adult’s workforce issued within the last 12 months of on the update service.

* Managing a caseload of 6 – 8 young people.

The Responsibilities:

* As a Homelessness Support worker, you will be providing housing related support to vulnerable individuals together with providing housing and property management with the aim of achieving a successful move-on and other measurable outcomes including supporting service users to achieve independence.

* As a Homelessness Support worker, you will engage with actual and potential referral agencies including local authority central access point/gateway services, statutory and voluntary sector agencies to generate referrals for the service as required.

* Part of your role will be to plan and deliver an effective support and safety plan with the service user referring to specialist agencies as required. The progressions/outcomes identified, delivered and service user contact should be recorded, monitored, reviewed, and updated regularly and in line with contract requirements.

* In your role as a Homelessness Support worker, you will need to ensure that properties are always adequately equipped, maintained, furnished, and cleaned.

* An important part of your role as a Homelessness Support worker will be to maximise rent collection, ensuring successful housing and other welfare benefit claims are submitted and maintained.
