POST TITLE: Electrical Installation Lecturer

DIRECTORATE/DEPARTMENT: Vocational and Technical Education

GRADE: Lecturer

LOCATION: Bromsgrove

RESPONSIBLE TO: Vocational and Technical Leader

AIM AND PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the flexible and proactive delivery of an agreed teaching program in Electrical Installation and other related areas. In addition to teaching to undertake a range of administrative and developmental duties that contribute to improving standards and achievements and the learner experience.

KEY ROLES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

* To teach across a range of programs in Electrical Installation and associated areas

* To develop the curriculum in Electrical Installation and associated areas

* To deliver high-quality teaching and learning by providing students with a planned learning and assessment experiences, effectively manage and monitor the learning experience, provide timely and constructive feedback, and guide/support learners to achieve their learning goals

* To produce lesson plans, appropriate to groups and individuals

* To contribute to the continual quality improvement mechanisms and keep accurate records of learners ILPS. progress and performance.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

* To commit to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children young people and vulnerable adults

* To participate in the College's Performance Management Scheme and attend such training events as are necessary to enable him/her to carry out the cuties of the job description.

* To continually improve teaching, learning and assessment through proactive CPD and sharing best practice

* To actively participate in the College's Quality System, including quality improvement strategies and initiatives

* To undertake such other duties as may be assigned commensurate with the grade and purpose of the post.

* To take reasonable care for the health and safety of him/her and others affected by his/her work.

* To actively support College Safeguarding, Equality, and Diversity policies.

* To operate/conduct all HR tasks and functions within the principles of GDPR.

POST: Electrical Installation Lecturer

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Attainments (eg Qualifications, Experience)

ESSENTIAL:

* L3 Electrical Installation qualification or equivalent level Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualification

* Experience working within the Electrical Installation Industry, domestic and or commercial

* Hold or be willing to gain a Diploma in Education and Training within 3 years of appointment

* Experience of Electrical

* Installation craft skills

* Experience of Electrical Installation craft skills Ability to teach across a range of Electrical Installation subjects and levels

DESIRABLE:

* Assessor and or internal verifier qualification

* Inspection and testing qualification

* 17h Edition wiring regulations qualification

* Experience of working with Electrical installation Awarding Bodies e.g EAL and or City and Guilds

* Experience of working with ‘’smart" Installations

Organisational Skills:

* Relevant Teaching experience in an educational setting.

* Ability to develop new courses

* Ability to use and develop new technology (e.g. ILT) to improve the leamer experience Enthusiasm for teaching and supporting young people and adult learners
