We are recruiting for a Housing Support Worker on behalf of a Housing Association in Preston. This role involves providing high-quality support to individuals, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and well-maintained living environment.
THE ROLE
As a Housing Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to individuals, working in a person-centred manner to meet a range of needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting individuals with daily living tasks such as medication prompts, budgeting, and attending appointments.
Working closely with individuals facing high levels of drug and alcohol dependency.
Monitoring and promoting safeguarding practices, raising concerns as necessary.
Liaising with external professionals and agencies to address tenant needs.
Inspecting and maintaining properties to ensure safety and readiness for new tenants.
Addressing neighbour disputes and tenancy issues with the Housing Officer or Manager.
Participating in training and team meetings to improve service delivery.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, working with vulnerable individuals in a housing-related capacity.
We are looking for someone who has:
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection (GDPR).
Experience in property maintenance or housing management.
The ability to work flexibly under pressure and to deadlines.
A caring, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach.
THE CONTRACT
Full-Time, Monday to Friday.
Permanent Contract.
£23,000.00 per year, plus benefits.
