The Role

The successful candidate will work in Briggs’ Mooring Operations team. Their duties will primarily include (but not be limited to) the berthing and unberthing of vessels, at various locations in and around the Port of Liverpool.

They will be expected to demonstrate Briggs’ core values in all interactions with customers and colleagues, ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards.

Principal Responsibilities

* Moor and unmoor vessels in accordance with safe working practices, and under the direction of vessel pilots or crew members

* Operate a handheld VHF radio, for communicating with colleagues or vessels

* Supervise the maintenance of shore tension equipment

* Be a member of the gig-boat crew during operations, both within the Port of Liverpool and at Tranmere Oil Terminal

* Conduct boat checks and general maintenance and defect reporting as required

* Supervise all mooring operations within the port

The Candidate

You will have supervisory experience within the maritime industry (essential). You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels and be flexible with shift-work. The successful individual must also be Powerboat Level 2 certified and possess ENG1 Seafarers Medical, a full UK driving license is also essential
