Department Function The Cladding Remediation Team is established to assess and remediate fire safety defects in medium and high-rise buildings across the groups legacy portfolio of developments across England, Scotland, and Wales. To the standards agreed with the nations governments, the team will assess each building, and where remediation is required, will deliver a suitable remediation scheme to rectify the building. The commercial function within the team will ensure projects are planned and delivered in a commercially astute manner, ensuring contractors deliver contractually, and ensuring the businesses cladding remediation provision is effectively utilised and able to withstand scrutiny. 

As a member of the team you will be directly contributing to improving the safety of buildings, and providing assurance to residents through our customer-focused approach to remediation.

Job summary/Purpose To set out, and successfully implement, the team business strategy for delivering efficient cost control and procurement needs in line with team targets. Monitor all contractual issues, reviewing costs on a continuing basis, identifying, and realising cost saving opportunities to ensure the businesses Cladding Remediation provision is effectively utilised and able to withstand scrutiny. Overseeing principal contractor, material and subcontract procurement as appropriate.

Be a proactive member of the Cladding Remediation board and successfully manage staff in the commercial team.

Primary Responsibilities Implement regional business strategy for design and procurement needs:  

Work closely with other Directors in the commercial management of the business. 
 Constantly monitor the commercial viability of schemes throughout the development stage.  
Effectively communicating the business unit strategy to the department and monitoring progress against targets.  
Contribute in defining and developing procurement strategy.  
Liaise with technical and production teams to maximise value improvement   Monitor all contractual issues: 

Implement and manage effective placement of principal contractor and subcontractor orders as appropriate.  
Ensure monitoring systems are in place to manage the financial aspects of a number of concurrent projects.  
Control the scheduling and purchasing of materials.  
Contribute to project budgets.   Review and monitor costs on a continuing basis: 

Raise awareness of the need to effectively manage a regime of cost control with local board.  
Prepare regular reports for the DoCR illustrating the financial situation of various projects in relation to budgets, highlighting any issues/risks.  
Reconcile monthly costs reports for presentation to Board. Management and motivation of Commercial  

Ensure that an effective departmental structure is in place to deliver team strategy.  
Manage and motivate the commercial team.  
Ability to understand the key drivers for effective staff motivation.  
Must have the sufficient skills to identify staff weaknesses and implement change where necessary.  
Ensure regular performance reviews take place within the Team.   Proactive member of local Board: 

Involvement in and understanding of other functions within management team.  
As part of management team, responsible for health and safety risk assessment and customer care issues within the business.  
Take responsibility for achieving business targets.  
Undertake any other duties as required by the Director of Cladding Remediation.  
Drive forward and attend Concept, Pre-tender, Pre start, specification and any other relevant meeting as required under the Company’s operating framework.  
Develop Team relationships to ensure effective communication is achieved and maintained Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements
Previous experience of working on medium and high-rise developments, ideally within a remediation setting.
At least 2 years experience at Senior Management level in a commercial role
