An experienced Programme and Participation Manager with relevant experience is needed to join our team at Kingswood Arts, a new not-for-profit arts centre and cultural hub based in Southwark, on a full-time basis. 

The role will be a leadership role, and will work very closely with the General manager. They would in many ways, be the day-to-day creative lead for the organisation - someone dynamic, motivated, creative and innovative will be needed to fully realise the potential of this amazing building!

Kingswood Arts is a new not-for-profit arts centre and cultural hub designed to support its local community through creativity. Located in a stunning 32-room mansion, we offer a range of free and affordable activities, events, and performances for young people and families, including music, drama, dance, and visual arts. 

We aim to support and give voices to marginalised communities and those who face barriers to accessing arts and culture. Our programme is and always will be co-created with our local community, relevant, affordable and accessible. 

About the Role

The role involves managing and delivering a comprehensive programme of participatory activities for young people, families, and the wider community. It includes producing high-quality, culturally relevant, and accessible performances, exhibitions, showcases, and festivals in a cost-effective manner. 

Additionally, the role requires overseeing monitoring and evaluation, consultation, and a broad impact measurement programme while also supporting fundraising, marketing, and building management efforts as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

To manage and develop our existing programme of regular free activities for young people, families and the wider community throughout the week 
Work with marketing to promote our regular activities and ensure that all our activities are at full capacity 
To recruit and manage freelancers and assist in the delivery of activities if appropriate 
Work closely with senior management and the fundraising team to design new projects 
To oversee the administration of participatory activities, including but not limited to registers & emergency contact information 
Work with the senior management team to explore and develop commercial opportunities such as paid-for adult activities or courses 
Working with the General Manager and Directors, design an annual programme of high-quality, culturally relevant performances spanning music, theatre, visual arts and dance 
To manage regular festivals or public events such as Kingswood Arts' role in the Dulwich Festival, our annual Family Fun Day, Halloween, Winter Wednesdays and other key moments 
To support where required in the selection, booking, venue management and/or production of external hires for theatre, dance, music or visual arts 
To find pathways for our participatory groups to gain opportunities to perform at Kingswood and elsewhere or gain other industry experience 
To represent Kingswood Arts in networks and other relationships with key stakeholders 
Required Experience:

Experience managing varied programmes 
Administration/project management 
Knowledge of arts & voluntary sectors 
Good understanding of working with marginalised communities
Must have line management experience 
Desirable Experience:

Fundraising experience 
Artistic experience and ability to facilitate sessions yourself 
Experience working with SEN groups
Required Skills:

Attention to detail, strong organisational skills, a keen understanding of community arts work and good contacts and knowledge within the arts industry
This person needs to be confident, approachable, and able to understand and engage young people and the wider community
They must be a team player and willing to get stuck in with whatever is happening at the venue
