The Lab Technician function will work closely under the direction of the Quality Manager who is responsible for quality compliance of the organisation to customer and regulatory requirements, on a wide range of quality assurance and control activities to ensure our KPIs are achieved.
The successful candidate will work within the laboratory supporting our manual and automated processing line in relation to chemical analysis, solution analysis and periodic testing to ensure compliance to NADCAP requirements and process control & optimisation. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity for internal progression within the group and the organisation.
Main Duties
* Periodic Testing of laboratory equipment to Quality Management System requirements.
* Periodic Testing of chemical solutions from manual & automated process lines to ensure stability and compliance to data card and work instruction requirements.
* Periodic Testing of deionized water supply and rinse tanks to ensure compliance to data card and work instruction requirements.
* Support surface treatment testing to ensure treatments and coatings meet customer requirements.
* Support non-routine laboratory testing for process capability and organisation scope extensions.
* Compliance to laboratory solution datasheets and internal QMS health & Safety requirements.
* Record, Analyse and interpret results from tests.
* Support document management system controls to all laboratory records and results.
* Data capture, analysis, and action generation to bring about improvements based on results on laboratory testing.
* Control and procurement of laboratory solutions and stock levels to the Inventory Management System.
* Support Laboratory 6S Standard to ensure laboratory remains in a controlled sustainable condition.
Desired Skills
* Ability to carry out chemical analysis.
* Experience working with strongly acidic and basic solutions in a laboratory environment.
* Knowledgeable in chemical and solution analysis requirements.
* IT Literate - Microsoft Office Software.
* Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities.
* Methodical and analytical with excellent attention to detail.
Desired Experience
* HNC or equivalent in a chemistry or similar subject desired.
* Minimum A-Level in chemistry or similar education.
* Laboratory professional with working experience in a laboratory function within a manufacturing setting.
* NADCAP AC7108 Experience is desired.
* Strong health and safety knowledge and experience working with hazardous chemicals
