Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 per annum
Location: Near Didcot, Oxfordshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, day shift
Interview Process: Video interview followed by a 2nd stage face to face

Syntech Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a highly specialised critical manufacturing business. As part of their 2025 growth plans, we’re looking to bring on board a meticulous and experienced Assembly & Test Technician to join their high-performing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the assembly, integration, and rigorous testing of high-quality hardware and research products used in cutting-edge aerospace and high-reliability applications.

Assembly & Test Technician Duties:
Assembling precision R&D products and certified flight hardware

Performing advanced testing (functional, electrical, vibration, shock, thermal vacuum (TVAC), RF)

Writing and developing Manufacturing Assembly Procedures (MAPs) and Test Procedures

Inspecting machined parts using precision metrology equipment

Identifying and implementing process improvements for better efficiency and quality

Participating in internal and customer milestone reviews

Visiting suppliers/subcontractors to ensure quality compliance (as required)

What we’re looking for:

Essential skills and experience:

Strong background in precision assembly of high-value components

Skilled in using precision metrology equipment

Experience in functional, electrical bonding, isolation, vibration, shock, and thermal vacuum testing

Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications

Proficient with Microsoft Office tools

Proven ability to write and implement test and assembly procedures

Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach

Flexible attitude towards working hours (overtime/weekend work where required)

Desirable:

Experience within the space sector or highly regulated environments

Apprenticeship or formal mechanical engineering training

Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and precision components
