Associate Director Kerbside Management
We're working with an exciting client who is currently experiencing significant growth and is looking to expand their team in the North. They are seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead a multi-disciplinary design team in Kerbside Management, Sustainable Travel, Traffic, Landscape, and Highway Design. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated individual to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic organization that works across both the public and private sectors.
As an Associate Director, you'll be instrumental in managing key client relationships, ensuring the success of regional financial performance, and leading a team of senior engineers, technicians, and apprentices. Your expertise will help drive the strategy for growth in the northern region, while you provide technical direction and leadership to your team. This is a hands-on, senior leadership position with the opportunity to grow and influence both the team and the business. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with experience in the transport and design industry, looking for the next step in their career. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in managing profitable work streams and developing strong relationships with local authority clients. You will be a self-starter who excels in team leadership and the delivery of high-quality projects. Experience in both public and private sectors is highly beneficial.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·Act as the primary account manager for key clients, working closely with senior leaders to help deliver regional financial performance.
·Lead and develop a team of engineers, senior engineers, technicians, graduates, and apprentices across a variety of service areas.
·Oversee the preparation of bids, proposals, and estimates, helping secure new work.
·Develop and expand service offerings, including business case preparation and broader transport policies for clients.
·Ensure the successful delivery of projects by guiding project managers to meet client requirements and maintain high-quality results.
·Recruit and develop new staff to meet business growth objectives.
·Maintain a project utilization rate of 60% for yourself while developing a broader team of professionals.
·Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the business to drive results.
·Actively market the business and build strong client relationships.
·Ensure project resources are effectively scheduled and managed.
·Provide CDM advice and take on the role of Principal Designer where appropriate.
·Ensure that projects stay within budget and deadlines are met.
·Work in tandem with other senior staff to develop business strategies and identify new opportunities.
·Contribute to the company's overall business growth, with a focus on the north region.
 
Qualifications:
·A relevant degree in a related field (or equivalent years of experience).
·Chartered or Incorporated membership with ICE/CIHT (or nearing application).
·Professional Membership (MICE/MCILT/MIHT) is a plus.
·Project Management qualification is desirable.
 
Key Skills and Experience:
·Proven leadership experience and a strong ability to drive financial performance under pressure.
·Knowledge and experience in operating within a matrix management structure.
·Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
·Demonstrated experience in business development and account management, with a strong ability to establish and grow client relationships.
·A clear focus on quality, consistency, and project delivery.
·A track record in people management and development, with a focus on equality, inclusion, and diversity.
