Axon Moore is delighted to be recruiting for a Finance Assistant to sit within a progressive business based in Central Manchester. This role will be an essential and pivotal role within the finance department, and an ideal opportunity for someone who is currently studying AAT and looking to grow in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

The Finance Assistant will typically report to the Financial Controller and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations. This will include assisting the finance team with various accounting tasks, maintaining up-to-date financial records, processing transactions, and contributing to the overall accuracy and efficiency of the department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills while working closely with a dedicated team, making this role a fantastic stepping stone for those looking to build a long-term career in finance.

Location: Central Manchester + Hybrid

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000

Main Duties:

Supporting the Financial Controller with the day-to-day tasks required within a busy finance department.
Sales / purchase ledger
Month end duties
Bank reconciliation
Balance sheet reconciliations
Assisting in AR
Credit control
Following and using Accounts systems
Providing administrative support to the team
Working closely with individuals across the business at all levels
Supporting the Assistant Accountant
Individual Specification:

At least 12 months experience in finance, ideally in a similar role
High level of self-motivation
Excel skills (VLOOKUP’s – Pivot tables)
Ability to problem solve and come up with solutions
Computer literate with an aptitude for numbers and different systems
Strong communication skills
Ability to work with individuals across departments and liaise with external customers and contacts
Solid organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload
