My client have a long and established reputation for customer excellence and responsiveness in the supply of complex, quality critical precision machined components and related assemblies. This role is within their busy, well equipped and modern CNC machine shop in Durham. This role is a working supervisor position so after the primary role of looking after the machine shop you could spend some time on the machines.

Working Hours:

Twin SHIFT :

6am – 2pm and 2pm – 11.25pm Mon-Thurs alternating shifts.

6am - 12pm Friday. (Early shift only) Both 36.33 hrs per week

Salary:

£20 hourly rate, negotiable on experience + 20% shift allowance paid on both shifts.

Overtime 1.5 as standard and available most weeks.

Responsibilities

* Work safely at all times

* Ensure all parts produced meet drawing requirements

* Complete check sheets as Quality record

* Complete OEE sheets to aid continuous improvement

* Prevention of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) contamination

* Create/update set up sheets as required

* Appropriate use of PPE

* Monitoring production flow

* Maintain processes & procedures

* Maximising cycle times

* Keeping machines running and meeting OEE targets

Role Requirements:

* Time served apprentice in CNC Machining

* Minimum 5 years experience of billet work.

* Must be competent at programming/editing NC programs

* Ability to read and follow aerospace protocols and achieve/maintain high levels of quality

* Ability to set and run CNC machines

* Experience in managing several shop floor machinists, both skilled & semi-skilled

* Must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills

* Motivate and drive workforce

* Be a problem solver – investigate, advise & recommend solutions
