The Opportunity
Our client is one of the largest Engineering Consultancies in the UK. They are currently searching for a Technical Author to join their team and help with Sellafield-based projects.
This role is offered on an initial 12-month contract, inside IR35. You will be working 40 hours per week on a hybrid basis, based at Sellafield.
Please note, you will need to be able to gain UK Security Clearance for this role. Therefore, we are unable to consider candidates who will require VISA sponsorship now, or in the future.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
To produce a suite of compliant, professionally produced Operation and Maintenance (O&M) documents within defined timeframes.
Interrogating engineering/ design and vendor information to produce the System Overview Documents (Volume B) and to enable the collation of Vendor documents (Volume D).
Reporting directly to the Commissioning Support Manager.
Providing weekly progress updates.
Attending progress meetings.
Checking verification requirements in Commissioning Test Documents.
Ensuring Safety is the highest priority on the project, with a continued strive towards Zero Harm.
Ensuring quality standards and consistency are applied throughout the range of documentation being produced.
Supporting the development of a collaborative project culture in line with Collaborative Working Plan.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Minimum HNC in an appropriate discipline.
Previous Technical Author experience
IOSH Working or Managing Safely
Microsoft Office suite, specifically: Word, Excel, VisioIt’s great if you also have the following

The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
