Position Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects. Your role will involve cost estimation, budgeting, and contract management to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, considering all aspects such as materials, labour, and overheads.
* Budget Management: Monitor project costs and budgets, providing regular reports and forecasts to project stakeholders.
* Tendering Process: Prepare and issue tender documents, analyze bids, and recommend contractors for selection.
* Contract Management: Administer contracts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
* Site Measurements: Conduct site visits to assess completed work and measure quantities for accurate billing and reporting.
* Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports, highlighting variances and ensuring effective cost control.
* Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure alignment on project goals and budget constraints.
* Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving any disputes related to costs or contractual obligations.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in quantity surveying or a similar role in the construction industry.
* Skills:
* Strong analytical and numerical skills.
* Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* Knowledge of construction contracts and regulations.
Certifications:
* Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIQS) is an advantage.
Work Conditions:
* The role will require both office and site-based work, with occasional travel to project sites.
