Job Title: Accountant

Location: Cardiff

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE

We're working with a well-established, professional practice looking for a highly skilled and qualified accountant to join their expanding team. Whether you are a generalist with broad practice experience across accounts and tax or a specialist in taxation with expertise in personal tax and the taxation of trusts and estates, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career.

About the Accountant role:

As an Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality financial and tax services to our clients. You will have the chance to work with a varied portfolio of individuals, trusts, and estates, providing a comprehensive range of services from tax return preparation to handling complex tax matters. You will be expected to liaise with clients, solicitors, and HMRC on a regular basis, ensuring deadlines are met and all work is delivered to the highest standards.

This role requires a hands-on approach and a genuine interest in helping clients navigate the ever-changing landscape of tax regulations. You will be supported by a collaborative team of professionals and encouraged to take ownership of your client relationships.

Accountant Responsibilities:

* Tax and Account Preparation: Prepare personal tax returns, accounts, and other financial documents for a range of clients, including individuals, trusts, and estates.

* Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, solicitors, and other key stakeholders, offering tailored advice and guidance to meet their needs.

* Compliance and Advisory: Ensure full compliance with all relevant tax laws and deadlines, while proactively providing advisory services to clients on tax-efficient strategies and potential opportunities.

* HMRC Liaison: Act as the primary contact for HMRC, handling queries, resolving issues, and ensuring timely submissions of returns and documents.

* Project Management: Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring progress is tracked, deadlines are met, and clients are kept informed at all stages.

What We’re Looking For for an Accountant:

* Qualifications: CTA/ACA/ACCA or STEP qualified accountant with strong technical knowledge.

* Experience: Proven track record working in practice, with substantial experience in managing accounts and tax matters for a variety of clients.

* Tax Expertise: Expertise in personal tax, and ideally, experience with the taxation of trusts and estates (for those with a specialist tax focus).

* Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and build trusted relationships with clients.

* Organisational Skills: A well-organised individual who can manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.

* Proactive Attitude: A self-motivated and proactive professional who can take initiative and work independently while also being a collaborative team player.
