Freelance Site Manager
Location: Peterborough, UK
Contract Duration: 5 Months; until February 2025
Day Rate: Between £300 - £400 per day (CIS) depending on relevant experience
Start Date: 23rd September 2024

Company Overview:
Join a tier 1 main contractor known for its excellence in delivering large-scale, high-value construction projects. They're currently undertaking a significant scheme valued at over £200 million in the Peterborough area. We're looking for a dedicated and experienced Site Manager to join their team on a freelance basis to help drive this ambitious project.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance Site Manager with immediate availability to oversee groundwork, civil, underground services and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) aspects of this project. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that the project meets its objectives safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee daily site activities, ensuring all operations are conducted safely and efficiently while adhering to project specifications.

* Manage and coordinate all groundwork and civil engineering tasks, ensuring they are completed to the highest standards.

* MEP Oversight: Supervise the installation and integration of MEP systems, working closely with specialist subcontractors to ensure compliance with design and quality standards.

* Lead site teams, including subcontractors, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and motivation across all levels.

* Quality Control and Compliance: Conduct regular inspections and quality checks, ensuring all work meets statutory and regulatory requirements, including health and safety standards.

* Proactively identify and resolve any issues or obstacles that could impact project timelines or quality.

* Provide accurate and timely reports to senior management and stakeholders regarding site progress, potential risks, and any other relevant updates.

* Ensure site safety at all times, implementing effective fire safety protocols and acting as the site Fire Marshal.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Proven experience as a Site Manager, ideally with a background working for a tier 1 main contractor.

* Extensive experience in groundwork, civil engineering, underground services, and MEP.

* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams.

* In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality control standards.

* Relevant certifications are essential, including SMSTS, First Aid, and Fire Marshal qualifications.
