Your typical day as a Building Safety Manager might start with a site inspection of a high-rise building to assess fire safety measures and structural risks. Afterward, you could be meeting with internal teams to discuss remediation plans for a building undergoing refurbishment, ensuring that safety standards are maintained throughout the project. Later in the day, you might engage with residents, providing them with essential fire safety information and addressing any concerns they have about their homes.

As a Building Safety Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring that our residents live in safe homes, playing a crucial role in managing and mitigating risks associated with high-rise buildings. Your focus will be on protecting residents' safety, particularly in high-risk environments, while also developing and implementing safety strategies that align with Peabody’s commitment to best practices.

You’re someone who thrives on responsibility and independence. You’ll enjoy the challenge of working autonomously and making key decisions that impact the safety and wellbeing of our residents. Building strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation and with external stakeholders is second nature to you, enabling you to drive forward initiatives that enhance building safety. You’ll need to be onsite regularly to conduct inspections and assessments, but you’ll also have the flexibility to work remotely when focusing on reporting and strategic planning.

Your role will cover all aspects of building safety management, from conducting hazard assessments and developing safety cases to working with, development teams, gathering Regulation 38 information for new builds, ready for registration and liaising with regulatory bodies and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. If you’re proactive, dedicated to protecting residents, and committed to continuous improvement in building safety, we want to hear from you.

To be successful in this role, you’re:

* Committed to ensuring the highest standards of building safety.

* Independent and self-disciplined, with the ability to manage complex tasks and make sound decisions.

* Skilled in fire risk assessment and knowledgeable about structural safety requirements.

* Experienced in a similar role within the social housing sector.

* Dedicated to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with industry best practices.

* two additional paid volunteering days each year

* flexible benefits scheme, including family friendly benefits and access to a discount portal

* 4 x salary life assurance

* up to 10% pension contribution
