Job Title: SEN Job Coach

We are currently recruiting for a thriving SEN College who are dedicated to providing exceptional education and support for students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and complex needs. The College are passionate about empowering their students to gain independence and life skills required to gain employment. The College are currently seeking an experienced SEN Job Coach to support the students with their employment and make a real difference in their lives.

As an SEN Job Coach, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with PMLD, ASD, and complex needs to develop essential employability skills and gain meaningful work experience. You will work closely with students, teachers, employers, and families to create personalised work plans and ensure a smooth transition from education to employment.  You will build excellent links with potential employers, while upskilling students to support them in their work placements.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualised job coaching plans for students with PMLD, ASD, and complex needs.
Provide one-on-one and group support to students in developing employability skills, such as communication, teamwork, and time management.
Assist students in identifying their strengths, interests, and career goals.
Coordinate with local employers to secure work experience placements and employment opportunities for students.
Support students during work placements, ensuring a positive and productive experience.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to create a holistic support system for each student.
Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting coaching strategies as needed.
Advocate for students' needs and rights in the workplace.
Provide training and support to employers on best practices for working with individuals with PMLD, ASD, and complex needs.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and work placement details.

Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience working with individuals with PMLD, ASD, and complex needs, preferably in an educational or employment support setting.
Knowledge of employability skills and job coaching techniques for individuals with special educational needs.
Systematic Instruction training is desirable but not essential.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, therapists, employers, and families.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students achieve their potential.
