The Role – Pastoral Assistant

I am looking for an experienced Pastoral Assistant to join a PRU in Southwark on a permanent basis. As a Pastoral Assistant you will need to support emotional and behavioural needs, mentor students where necessary and contribute not only to their day to day needs but also their long – term success and well – being. You will need to support class learning and monitor the welfare of the students, ensuring that students who face significant barriers in education can thrive in a nurturing environment. As a Pastoral Assistant you be working closely with SENCO, teachers, parents and carers and will need to maintain records and report on student’s progress.

The School – PRU

The school is an all-girls PRU based in Southwark that caters for girls aged 11 – 16 years old. Their vision is to have key strategies to help manage and regulate students emotions appropriately and that they have the confidence to seek help where and when needed. The school’s purpose is to act in the best interest of the students and the school community by delivering quality education, pastoral and specialist support for young girls identified as having SEMH. The school has local bus routes and a close underground station.
