Paying up to £15.00 per hour, this housing association is recruiting a Temporary Finance Officer for an ongoing temporary role. The role offers a hybrid working pattern and the working hours are 8.45am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am - 4pm on a Friday.
THE ROLE
As Finance Officer, your main purpose will be to assist the finance team with the preparation of annual budgets and general finance duties.
Key accountabilities:
Assist the finance manager with the preparation of annual budgets
Working collaboratively with the other teams to ensure correct coding and monitoring of sinking fund accounts
Preparation and reconciliation of pre-payments and accruals
Manual journal postings
Support with month end close off tasks and reports as required
Updating cash flow and supporting finance manager with providing actual figures/forecasts
Review of VAT allocations monthly, and preparation of Quarterly VAT returns for review
Collate all data and changes in preparation for monthly payroll process
Monitor contracts database and ensure relevant information is provided by managers
Support and cover for the purchase and sales ledger role within the finance team
Overview of bank reconciliation and reporting of month end close
THE PERSON
This will suit someone who is either part-qualified, an AAT studier, or a QBE, with strong working knowledge of accounts, ideally within a property or housing environment but this is by no means essential. You must have excellent Excel skills, be organised with good attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure is essential. You must have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. The client is looking for someone who is available immediately or at short notice and someone who can commit to the full ongoing assignment for continuity purposes.
