Job Advert: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Permanent Role
Location: Joseph Norton Academy, Huddersfield.

Salary: £25,532 annual salary- 32.5 hours p/w term time ONLY plus 5 inset days

Joseph Norton Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our outstanding team. As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting the academic and personal development of our students, helping them to achieve their full potential. Working under the guidance of a teacher or phase lead, you will be integral in providing tailored support to children with complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the delivery of high-quality learning, encouraging student engagement and progress.
Build positive relationships with students, offering guidance, support, and encouragement.
Work closely with staff to create an inclusive, nurturing environment for all students.
Assist in developing and implementing personalised learning plans.
Contribute to the overall development and wellbeing of students, supporting their preparation for adulthood.What We're Looking For:

Experience in supporting children, ideally in a special educational needs setting.
A strong understanding of social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
